In the long awaited title fight between Unified Lightweight Champion Teofimo Lopez 16-1
(12 KO’s) and George “Ferocious” Kambosos, the kid from Brooklyn was upset in the main
event at the famed Madison Square Garden in New York City.
“I’ve always believed in myself, I bet on myself, look at me now, I have all the jewels. I’m not
the King, I’m the Emperor because I come to another country and I take them out, one by one,”
said the new champion. “Listen, all respect to him, New York City, Madison Square Garden,
I love’s you all,” said the new champion. “Cus D’Amato once said hit him with the best punch
of your life, and you’ll change the fight, and that’s what I did,” said Kambosos in an attempt to
quote the late great trainer.
